Schweizer drove around with a portrait of Hitler in the car

Date:

In Zurich (Switzerland), the police pulled over a driver at the end of August. The Opel driver had stuck a portrait of Adolf Hitler on his rear window. The driver suffered no consequences. Symbols of National Socialism are not prohibited in Switzerland.

At least for the time being – because in April the National Council voted to ban extremist symbols. The Federal Council is currently working on a corresponding law.

According to the Zurich police, “an image in this form alone is currently not criminally relevant.” An offense only occurs if the image is associated with a call to hatred or violence.

Tasteless jokes
There is outrage among many users in the comments below the post. One user demands: ‘the car should be taken away from him!’ Another user says: ‘Black humor’. In general, there are many crude and macabre ‘jokes’ in the comments.

The photo was published on the Instagram account “szene isch Züri”. The photo was accompanied by the following question: “What is wrong with gwüsse Lüt?” (“What is wrong with certain people?”)
