Deadly confrontation on the outskirts of the fashion capital Milan: a 49-year-old Inter Milan fan leader murdered the scion of one of the most powerful mafia families.
Andrea Beretta is one of the leaders of the organized fan scene of the football club Inter Milan. The Italian has not been allowed to visit the stadium of his favorite team for years – due to criminal activities in the past, he was banned from the entire city of Milan.
The daily meeting point for the full-time Inter fans around Beretta is a fitness centre in the suburb of Cernusco sul Naviglio. A few days ago, a deadly incident took place in the car park there: Beretta allegedly stabbed another Inter fan!
Beretta advocates self-defense
The victim, Antonio Bellocco (36, pictured below), is the scion of one of the most powerful ‘Ndrangheta mafia families from Calabria in southern Italy. Beretta has admitted to the fatal knife attack and said he acted in self-defense.
According to his lawyer, he was wounded in the leg by a gun. Beretta was taken into custody, he is injured in the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and the investigation is ongoing.
