Horror scenes unfolded in the US state of Kentucky on Saturday, when a gunman opened fire with a rifle from a forest and shot at cars moving on Highway I-75.
“The suspect has not been apprehended and we urge people to stay home,” Kentucky State Police Scottie Pennington quickly wrote on Facebook. “Until further notice, avoid I-75 near Exit 49! Use alternate routes and do not stay in this area,” Randall Weddle, mayor of the small American city of London, wrote on social media.
Shooter quickly identified
The suspected gunman fled after the shots but was quickly identified. Authorities said he was a 32-year-old local man who was classified as “armed and dangerous.” Seven occupants of a car were injured in the shooting.
