Rockets fired – Israeli airstrikes leave dead in Syria

According to activists, seven people, including three civilians, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on military bases in Syria on Sunday evening, with 13 violent explosions counted.

The other dead included a civilian and four soldiers. At least 15 other people were injured.

Those killed in the Masyaf area included a man and his son who were traveling in a car, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Israeli strikes, which took place in three waves, targeted five army sites east of the city of Hama, where pro-Iranian groups and weapons development experts were present.

According to Sana, Israel launched its airstrikes from northwestern Lebanon at around 11:20 p.m. local time. Syrian air defenses shot down several missiles.

Israel generally does not comment on such attacks. However, it repeatedly attacks Iranian-backed militia positions in Syria. Government soldiers and militia members are also regularly killed. Israel has stepped up these attacks since the Gaza war began 11 months ago.
