“The post brings something for everyone”! Dietlinde Hlavac from Grödig (Salzburg) can only laugh wearily at this advertising slogan. Your mailbox often remains empty. The post office itself promises a quick improvement of the situation.
Dietlinde Hlavac goes from her apartment on the first floor to the ground floor several times a day. The woman from Grödig opens the mailbox and almost always goes back upstairs in frustration. Because: The 80-year-old often waits in vain for the mail. “Our regular delivery man does his best. As soon as he’s not there, nothing works anymore,” she groans.
Long awaited concert tickets
In the past ten days, Hlavac has received her letters only once, including long-awaited concert tickets. “I thought they wouldn’t come at all. It’s a birthday present,” says the Salzburg resident. However, Hlavac is even more eagerly awaiting a new letter.
The 80-year-old is a cancer patient; she should have received the lab results of her blood test days ago. “My GP absolutely needs this,” says Hlavac angrily. What irritates you most? “All complaints to the post office are pointless. It always means it’s a holiday.”
Post promises immediate improvement
The post office itself confirmed this at the request of the “Krone”. Due to “an increasing number of sick leave and vacations” there have recently been delays in the delivery of letters. “As of this week, the area will be staffed normally again”, they promise.
