Venezuela has summoned the Spanish ambassador in Caracas for consultations, Ramon SantosThe government of Nicolás Maduro considers the words of the Spanish Defense Minister as “insolent, meddlesome and rude statements”, Margarita Robles, who criticized the “persecution” and “restriction of fundamental rights” that, in his opinion, the opponents in the South American nation are suffering.
As Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil explained on his Telegram channel, the ambassador must appear at the Foreign Ministry this Friday at the request of the Chavista executive. Venezuela believes that Robles’ statements “indicate a deterioration in relations between both countries.”

Robles stated, after the Edmundo González Urrutia arrives in Spainthat what the Venezuelan government is doing to “many” anti-Chavistas is “unacceptable and unacceptable.”
