A bike ride is actually a trivial thing, but when the most powerful man in the world cycles through his neighborhood and then tears up a “star” too, there are headlines. This happened to US President Joe Biden on Friday as he went on a bike ride near his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, accompanied by staff and security. Particularly spicy: The US president fell down after driving past a group of reporters and waved merrily at them…
Joe Biden and his wife Jill celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Friday and left the US capital Washington for a few days. Rehoboth Beach is a seaside town on the Atlantic coast in Sussex County, a popular holiday region. Joe Biden also has a home there and he and his wife are currently spending a few days there with First Cat “Willow”.
Biden cycles regularly
For the American president, this also includes regular bike rides. Of course, when Biden is in Rehoboth Beach, paparazzi and reporters are there too. During one of his early morning bike rides, the head of state waved to a group of photographers, shouted “Good morning” – and the next moment landed roughly on the ground.
His entourage and a few passers-by came to the president’s aid, Biden was brought back on his feet and, of course, had to pose for a few photos afterwards. Then we sat up again and continued. The US president survived the minor fall unscathed, but his wife was back with him on the next bike ride – to avoid distraction.
