Situation in Gaza on September 14, 2024

In total, 64 deaths among Palestinian civilians have been reported in just 24 hours. Israeli authorities released nine Palestinians held in Gaza on Saturday, and the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the death of a paramedic while in custody.

So far this Saturday, more than twenty people have been killed in Gaza, in Israeli strikes on civilian structures in Gaza City and Beit Hanoun, in the north, and on Khan Yunis, in the south.

Israel has killed at least this morning eleven peopleincluding four minors and a woman, in an attack carried out at dawn against a family home close to school Shujaiya in Gaza City.

Also another attack around the school Arqam, northwest of Gaza Citywhich serves as a refuge for displaced Palestinians, has caused the deaths of five people.

The Israeli military confirmed the strike on two buildings near the Arqam school, saying that both structures were used by Hamas militants to carry out attacks and build weapons. As always when targeting civilian structures in Gaza, the Israeli forces stressed that the Islamist group is using the Gaza population as a shield, and assured that they had taken precautions before the strike not to harm civilians.

On the other hand, two others were killed in an Israeli artillery attack in the city Bet Hanounin the north of the Strip, and others three in Khan Yunisin an attack on a tent where displaced people were seeking refuge.

A total of 64 deaths among Palestinian civilians have been reported in just 24 hours.

The Hamas attacks on October 7 prompted Israel to launch a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip, which has so far killed nearly 41,200 Palestinians and wounded almost 95,300. Added to these tally are more than 690 dead palestinians by Israeli security forces and by settler attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date.

Situation of prisoners in the hands of Israel

The Israeli authorities have taken action freedom this saturday nine Palestinians arrested in Gaza. Since October 7, thousands of Gazans have been detained in Gaza, in addition to the 10,700 Palestinians arrested in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Dozens of released Gazans and human rights groups have denounced intense torture operations, beatings, isolation regimes, starvation, medical neglect and even enforced disappearances.

Furthermore, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed this death of a paramedicHamdan Abu Anaba, while he is in prison after he was arrested along with several of his colleagues at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis last December, and he has asked the international community for help in revealing the fate of dozens of health workers detained by Israel.
