Brutal attack – girlfriend shot with bow and arrow

“Shortly before 7:00 a.m., the 42-year-old herself alerted the police via an emergency call. She stated in a difficult to understand manner that she had been shot with a bow and arrow in an apartment and had been seriously injured,” the Styrian police reported.

At the scene it turned out that the man probably shot two arrows at the woman with a bow, with both arrows piercing the woman’s upper body.

Victim apparently stable
The 42-year-old, who was seriously injured, was immediately treated by an emergency doctor and taken to the LKH Graz. There she underwent emergency surgery on Sunday. According to the latest information, she is now in a critical but stable condition.

Helicopter found getaway car near Fehring
The 38-year-old suspect fled in a car immediately after the crime. He also had a firearm with him, the director continued. Shortly before 7 p.m., a crew of the police helicopter near Fehring finally discovered the getaway vehicle at the edge of a forest.

Suspect in mortal danger
“Special forces from the Cobra Task Force and the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) approached the getaway vehicle and arrested the shooter, who also fired a shot at the suspect. He was seriously injured and immediately received medical care from an emergency physician. A rescue helicopter flew the 38-year-old to the LKH Graz that evening. His life is in danger and is currently receiving intensive care,” the police report continues.

The background to the crime is unclear. However, as has now become clear, both the injured and the attacker are probably linked to drug addiction. Both are Austrian and come from Graz.
