A truck driver (30) who stopped at the Enns-Süd rest area shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday is said to have used the driver card of a close relative in the digital control device of his trailer. In total, the man is said to have misused this driver card on eight working days. He was convicted and reported.
The freight transport was from France to Romania and at the time of the inspection the 30-year-old Turk was said to have driven the heavy vehicle for 31 hours without observing the prescribed rest period. The longest rest period was just over three hours.
Manipulation allowed
The truck driver confessed when questioned by the police. The Turk will now be reported to the Linz Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Linz-Land district administration. He risks heavy fines.
