Heap of broken glass in the Melk district: a truck lost a significant part of its load in a bend. Hundreds of beer bottles ended up on the street. How the accident could have happened is currently unclear.
While the Pöchlarn fire brigade was preparing for upcoming storm operations, they received an emergency call to rescue a truck.
Beer crates scattered across the road
The truck lost a large part of its load in a left turn on Eisenstrasse, resulting in a considerable amount of beer crates and bottles being scattered across the entire roadway.
Due to the expected effort, the operational manager immediately called the Pöchlarn construction site, which also came with a tractor, trailer and sweeper to clear the road.
First, the beer crates were manually loaded back into the truck. Then, the broken glass was loaded with a front loader and removed. An investigation is still ongoing into why the van lost its load.
