Tyrolean mountain rescuer Christian Busslehner (49) was buried and seriously injured by a subsequent avalanche during a one-person avalanche disaster below the Binsalm (Schwaz district). He now has to undergo surgery. In the ‘Krone’ interview he describes how he experienced the accident.
“I was actually prepared for a free afternoon,” says the father of two, who recently received an award for 25 years of active membership in the Achenkirch mountain rescue service. But a wonderful afternoon with the two daughters Hannah (7) and Eva (9) and wife Regina came to nothing. There was an avalanche alarm in the morning: a German hiker was buried in an avalanche during the descent from the Binsalm.
