A day after the scandalous derby in Vienna, more and more horrific details are coming to light: a stadium visitor beat up a man at an S-Bahn stop after the football match. The victim is now in an induced coma, Vienna police confirmed on Monday.
According to the child of the victim of the abuse, the incident took place on Sunday shortly after 9 p.m. at a stop on the S45. A man beat his father and his father’s friend for no reason.
It was not possible to de-escalate the situation, ‘green_white’ wrote on social media on Monday. The ‘man’ ‘hit him with his foot and hand.’ Eventually, the father fell with the back of his head on the platform.

Bleeding in the brain
“The bottom line is, he is currently in an induced coma and has a hemorrhage in the brain,” it continues. “I am really at a loss for words… It is just sad what happened in the stadium. I do not want this person to ever enter our stadium again.”
A few hours after the posting, the Vienna police confirmed the incident when asked. The investigation is ongoing, they said on the X platform. The victim’s child said he was interviewed on Monday. Many users were sympathetic and shocked under the post. ‘Nobody helps? Get well soon with your father,’ wrote one person. ‘Something like this is unbelievable,’ reads another.
Hundreds of advertisements
As reported, there were already calls for a lifelong stadium ban for the rioters. In addition to the man who was beaten into a coma, at least twelve other people, including emergency services, were injured after the derby in Vienna-Hütteldorf on Sunday night. The two fan camps threw pyrotechnic objects at each other. There have already been 577 advertisements.
“During the storming of the square yesterday, the Vienna police managed to get the situation under control within five minutes. At 19:04, the first fan entered the field, and at 19:09, there were no more unauthorized persons on the field and the criminal acts ended,” the police said on Monday.
