Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the war against Russia to end in 2025. “Decisive action now can hasten a fair end to Russian aggression against Ukraine next year,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after meeting with a US congressional delegation.
Zelensky is optimistic about a quick end to the war with Russia. “I think we are closer to peace than we think,” Zelensky said optimistically in an interview with the American broadcaster ABC News. The end of the war is approaching. In the interview, he also called on the US and other partners to continue supporting Ukraine.
“Our victory plan will help to practically force Russia to peace,” said Zelensky, who wants to present his plan in talks and possibly in public speeches. With the plan he wants to secure additional political and military support from the allies.
According to a report in Britain’s The Times, it includes a demand for Western security guarantees similar to those of NATO membership, as well as unspecified weapons and further financial aid.

Ukraine under military pressure in the east
