New subsidies for broadband expansion in Austria: As part of the third broadband funding call, the state is awarding a total of 275 million euros. The focus is on Styria.
“With this call for funding, we are investing the remaining resources of the broadband billions and thus financing the last major projects to open up the last white spots on the map of Austria,” said Finance Minister Magnus Brunner (ÖVP).
Application possible at FFG
The expansion of a stable internet offer is “essential for Austria as a location”. You can apply for federal funding from the Research Promotion Agency (FFG) until January 20, 2025.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Styria will receive the highest funding amount of 110 million euros. “The focus will be on previously underserved regions in West Styria, South Styria and East Styria,” said Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, deputy for Styrian Economic Affairs (ÖVP).
