6.3 million Austrians will elect a new parliament on 29 September, setting a new course not only in the “analogue” world. For the parties, digitalisation and high-tech are no longer new territory, but a space they want to shape. More and more new technologies are becoming part of our daily lives: internet satellites provide connectivity to even the furthest corners of the country, more and more electric vehicles are driving through our streets, surgeons operate in hospitals with the support of high-tech robots, and future technology such as artificial intelligence is being used in Austrian universities and companies. Research is being conducted into intelligence and quantum computers. But what is it that moves us forward above all and should be supported? Krone+ asked the parties that had put themselves forward for the elections on Sunday which three future technologies they considered particularly promising.
