At least three people have been killed in a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian port city of Izmail. At least fourteen others were injured, the area’s military governor said. The river port is important for Ukrainian grain exports.
Several houses, other buildings and cars were damaged in the attack on Friday evening.
Just a few hundred meters away is NATO and EU member Romania, which reported that the Russian drone may have entered there for less than three minutes. Two F-16 fighter jets and two Spanish F-18 fighter jets were then sent into the air.
Meanwhile, at least eight people were injured by Russian airstrikes in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine. There were further hits at a police station and an industrial factory.
