The 14-year-old Styrian who killed his eldest brother with a Viking ax two weeks ago now claims an ‘angry voice’ in his head forced him to commit the crime. “I’ve known for years,” the boy also says, “that there is something creepy in me.”
Somehow he doesn’t seem to fit into this ‘other world’ in prison. He – Gerhard H. (name changed). A 14 year old. Who behaves in an extremely conformist manner; polite, calm. Who seems almost childlike in his appearance; with his neat hairstyle and delicate facial features. And no, no one around him would have believed – until recently – that the young Styrian was bad.
He was always considered a good, perhaps somewhat quiet, student; when a rule-abiding boy did innocent things in his spare time, sometimes visiting fast food restaurants with his gang. And was mainly at home. In a well-kept house in Kindberg.
It was there that he committed an act of madness on September 16; his eldest brother – Florian (name changed)a plowman – killed by 17 blows with a Viking axe. A ‘stupid, actually pointless argument’ over the division of various household tasks had escalated – as the boy initially explained during interrogations. However, he only started talking about the supposed “real reasons” for his crime against the 36-year-old a few days ago…
