On the evening of the elections, when many people wanted to follow the various analyses, there was a power outage in parts of Innsbruck. About 1,500 households were affected.
The power outage at Innsbruck’s municipal companies (IKB) occurred around 6:45 p.m. Communities in the western low mountain range (Natters, Mutters, Lans, Sistrans and Aldrans) and the Innsbruck district of Wilten were affected. Only around 8:45 p.m., i.e. after about two hours, could the communities and Wilten be reconnected to the electricity grid.
People got stuck in elevators
According to the first information, the Tyrol control center received two emergency notifications. Eight people got stuck in an elevator on Tschamlerstrasse and one person on Unterbergerstrasse. According to the control center, those affected were rescued unharmed.
Innsbruck’s municipal companies cited a cable fault at the Pastorstrasse substation as the reason.
