The annual inflation in the eurozone fell by four tenths in September compared to August 1.8%are lowest level since April 2021This is evident from the provisional estimate published on Tuesday by the community statistics agency Eurostat.
Price increases moderated in the US in September serviceswhich continue to show the highest inflation among shopping basket components, at a rate of 4.0%, compared to 4.1% in August, as well as in food, alcohol and tobacco (2.4% compared to 2.3% in August).
Moreover, the decline in energy prices accelerated to 6.0%, compared to the 3.0% decline recorded the previous month, while inflation for non-energy industrial goods remained stable at 0.4%.
On his part, the rate of core inflation in the eurozone – where the prices of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco are ignored because they are the most volatile and serve as a reference for the European Central Bank (ECB) in its monetary policy – also increased by a tenth in the past month dropped, to 2.7%.
