Several traffic accidents kept the emergency services in Tyrol on their toes on Tuesday! For example, a local man (21) briefly fell asleep behind the wheel of his car on the Inntal highway and crashed into the center rail. He was seriously injured.
The 21-year-old was driving his car on the Inntal highway towards Kufstein around 11:15 am on Tuesday. “In Weer, according to his own statements, the man went too far to the left due to microsleep and crashed into the central guardrail,” the police say. The car then turned back onto the road and came to a stop in the middle of the two lanes, badly damaged. The Austrian was taken by lifebuoy to the hospital in Schwaz for a check-up. “During the accident investigation, the A12 was only passable in one lane in the area of the accident location,” said the driver.
Motorcycle collided with truck
Shortly after 4 p.m. an accident took place in Kirchberg in Tyrol (Kitzbühel district). Because a 37-year-old German braked sharply in his car for unknown reasons and a truck driver was behind him, a local man (63) crashed his motorcycle into the back of the truck, rolled over and fell out of the vehicle. The 63-year-old was taken to hospital in Kufstein with significant injuries.
