A 37-year-old man died on Saturday in a boat accident 300 meters off the coast of Saint-Tropez on France’s Côte d’Azur. Six other people were injured, three of them seriously.
This was reported by the regional radio and television channel France 3 Côte d’Azur with reference to the maritime prefecture. According to authorities, the accident happened around 2 a.m. near Canoubiers beach, east of the popular holiday resort of Saint-Tropez (pictured above).
The eight-meter-long so-called semi-rigid ship with seven people on board crashed into an anchor locker. The force of the impact threw all occupants out. The injured are men and women between 20 and 52 years old.
Fire divers recover the body
The body of a 37-year-old man was recovered by fire brigade divers. The remaining six occupants of the crashed boat were taken to hospitals in the Var region.
