Two Swedes are suspected of being terrorists after the explosions at the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. “Unfortunately, recent developments confirm that the terrorist threat against Denmark is serious,” police said. She now wants to carry out random checks on vehicles and travelers.
This has consequences for the borders with Sweden and Germany. As reported, two hand grenades exploded near the Israeli embassy on Wednesday night. Three young people from Sweden were arrested. One was released, the other two have been in custody since then. They are accused of violating Danish terror laws.
Earlier, shots were fired at the Israeli embassy in the Swedish capital Stockholm late on Tuesday evening. The Swedish public prosecutor sees a connection between the crimes (see video above).
Iranian involvement?
The operations director of the Swedish intelligence service Säpo, Fredrik Hallström, said on Thursday that the targeting of Israel and the approach suggested that Iran could be involved in the acts against the two embassies.
