Accidents and drugs – Austrian (24) keeps German police on their toes

Date:

A 24-year-old Austrian has kept the Bavarian police on their toes twice in recent days! First, the man threw his car across fields until the engine overheated and his vehicle caught fire. A few hours later, he caused another accident while under the influence of drugs.

Early on Thursday morning, around 2 a.m., the Bavarian police in Mindelheim were informed of a fire in a meadow outside the town of Stetten. When the patrol crew arrived, they found a car completely engulfed in flames. The car was extinguished by the emergency services of Apfeltrach, Kammlach and Stetten. The vehicle suffered total damage of approximately 2,000 euros.

Further investigation revealed that the driver and owner of the car – a 24-year-old Austrian – overheated the engine while doing spinning exercises in various fields and that his car caught fire. The police have started an investigation into the man’s driving skills and the damage to the meadows. The driver was caught for various violations.

However, these advertisements apparently did not have the desired effect on the Austrian. On Friday around 10 a.m., the 24-year-old was driving another car on the national highway from Kammlach towards Oberrieden. Shortly before entering the city, he lost control of his vehicle on a wet road, veered to the left of the road, went over two traffic checkpoints and crashed into a tree.

Driving on a cocktail of drugs but without a driver’s license
When the accident was recorded, several violations were discovered. In this way, drug-typical abnormalities could be identified. A preliminary drug test came back positive for several intoxicants. In addition, the 24-year-old’s driver’s license had already been legally revoked in Austria, meaning he would also not be allowed to drive in Germany.

“Slicks” with a profile of less than 0.2 millimeters
To make matters worse, the car he was driving had no license plates and was not registered or insured. In addition to these traffic violations, the driver also faces several traffic violation charges. Moreover, the car’s treads were barely visible. In some cases the depth was less than 0.2 millimeters.

After posting a deposit, on the orders of the Memmingen public prosecutor, and receiving detailed instructions, the driver was then allowed to leave the office.
