More water is currently flowing along the Salzach than after the heavy rainfall a few weeks ago, which led to major flooding in Lower Austria. Some people from Salzburg noticed this on Wednesday morning.
Because the Salzach currently has a high water level in the mountainous areas, Salzburg AG opened the weirs at its power stations upstream on Wednesday, including in Hallein-Gamp and Puch-Ursprung. This was reported by Herbert Seebauer, head of the city’s construction department. This means that cyclists cannot use the underpasses at the Lehener Bridge.
Open during the day
Seebauer hopes that once the inland water has flowed through, the underpass will likely be able to reopen during the day.
