An amendment to the Tyrolean State Police Act brings sexual freedoms for people with disabilities. According to the responsible Regional Security Council member (ÖPV), services at home and in healthcare institutions, for example, are permitted. The “Krone” has further details.
“Sexuality is a deep human need. “Every person has the right to sexual self-determination, with or without disability” – the representatives of the Austrian Council for the Disabled get to the point. But in Tyrol, home visits and sexual counseling for people with disabilities are prohibited – the “Krone” reported this in detail. In February 2022, LH Anton Mattle (ÖVP) emphasized: “In sexual guidance we must look at the available options. Whether this should be regulated in a state police or in a social law is currently part of the discussions.”
