Neighbors should help finance part of it
The residents, who are also partial property owners of the Silbersberg, must agree to this and also co-finance part of it. A well-known resident is Madeleine Petrovic, former leader of the Green Party, who participated in the elections for the National Council with her own list. She welcomes the project, but criticizes that the reforestation of new trees should have started earlier. “We shouldn’t wait for people to get hurt.”
75 percent of the construction costs – around 3.5 million euros – will be borne by the government and the municipality. “However, the affected property owners must pay 25 percent,” says Blum. Offers are currently being sought.
