On Sunday morning, a 30-year-old went on a wild chase with the police in Vienna-Favoriten. Shortly after he rammed a patrol car, officers managed to arrest him.
The serious incident took place around 6:20 am on Troststrasse. The officers became aware of the 30-year-old after he turned from Raxstrasse into Laxenburger Strasse with screeching tires.
Head-on in police car
When police asked him to stop the car, the suspect refused and accelerated. He then drove head-on into another patrol car that was trying to prevent the driver from escaping. The police assume that the collision was deliberately caused by the suspect.
Without a driver’s license
The impact injured two police officers and the fleeing motorist. The 30-year-old without a driver’s license was arrested shortly afterwards. He was under the influence of drugs and alcohol while driving.
Significant damage was caused to the vehicles involved. The suspect was then taken to a prison. The suspect’s reason for fleeing was that he was not authorized to drive.
