As the police reported on Tuesday, a skeletonized body was found in Kleinwalsertal (Vorarlberg). This was by no means an accidental find, however. A German had specifically searched for a body.
Police in Kleinwalsertal received an unusual call on Saturday: a skeletonized body was found in the mountains, 65 meters below the Hochgehrenspitze in the municipality of Hirschegg.
The police suspect that this is the body of the man who did not return from his walk in the Kleinwalsertal in the autumn of 2021. At the time, the 67-year-old wanted to make a tour in the area of Fellhorn or Fiderepass. Since then, there has been no trace of the German.

Due to the finding situation, a fall of the man is likely. The body was recovered by the police helicopter and flown into the valley. The Kleinwalsertal police, together with the German management, are conducting further investigations to clarify the exact identity and course of the accident.
But the find was anything but a coincidence. A woman from Germany traveled by drone to search specifically for the missing person. On the day of the find, she had been searching for three days.
