Due to her rejection of the corona measures, restaurateur Alexandra Pervulesko made headlines across Austria as an ‘angry landlady’. Now there is renewed excitement about the woman from Linz, who has been running Gasthaus Reisinger in Lichtenberg since November 2023. The health insurer started insolvency proceedings due to an outstanding invoice.
On November 11 last year at 11:11 am, Alexandra Pervulesko turned the lights back on in the traditional Reisinger inn in Lichtenberg. Eleven months later, the 55-year-old from Linz, who became known as the Evil Landlady because of her rejection of the Corona regulations, is bankrupt. The health insurer has filed for bankruptcy.
According to the Credit Protection Association, the outstanding amount is 2,300 euros. However, there are also a number of open foreclosure proceedings. “The judge dug up old things and made a long list,” Pervulesko told the “Krone”.
Renting out on December 3?
She is firmly convinced that the bankruptcy proceedings will be stopped as soon as possible. That would be December 3rd. Creditors can assert their claims until that day: “Then everything will be over. Until then, we will continue as usual. The bill at ÖGK has been paid and our house is full,” says the restaurateur.

Curator German Storch is more reserved: “I cannot yet say how high the total balance is.” The Brauunion has about 8,400 euros outstanding. He thinks it is unlikely that the restaurant will close. “If the guests are not canceled completely, the continuation according to the current status does not seem to be a problem.”
Guests often travel far away
There should be no shortage of customers. Guests from the area and beyond regularly visited the restaurant. They were generally in the majority compared to local residents. Storch: “The announcement of the bankruptcy proceedings could even lead to a positive revival of business in the coming days. Guests could say to themselves: “especially now.” Pervulesko had indicated that the follow-up deposit would be secured by a third party.
Detention for several days
She has never been involved in bankruptcy, but the angry landlady knows the turbulence associated with Corona: in January 2021, despite the lockdown, she opened her Badcafé in Linz. She justified the action at the time by arguing that the Covid restrictions would cost her her livelihood. Instead of paying the administrative fine of 5,000 euros, she was sentenced to several days in prison. Because there were even more penalties for ‘lockdown parties’, she then closed the restaurant completely. BK/MR/MZ
