In America and China, billions flow into companies and research institutes working on artificial intelligence. But many people in Carinthia are also concerned with the subject. Eva Eggeling heads the AI division in Fraunhofer Austria, which has its home in Klagenfurt’s Lakeside Park.
“Krone”: How do you see the subject of artificial intelligence, how should people deal with it?
Eva Eggeling: Despite this enormous flood of information, fake news and hype, it is important to have the courage to face and try out the technology. Because it can then be used wisely and moving forward. I am a career optimist and see the glass as half full. Basic knowledge about AI is the new basic training, protects against many risks and offers a huge opportunity.
