A widow from Aurach am Hungar (Upper Austria) has been fighting for 15,000 euros in compensation for her murdered husband for three years. The e-biker (58) was overlooked, ‘shot’ and run over by a tractor driver on August 25, 2021 at an intersection in his home community. The claim for compensation for pain and suffering developed into a legal marathon through three instances all the way to the Supreme Court.
It was the fatal end to a beautiful summer day: On August 25, 2021, a local man (53) drove his tractor and trailer through Aurach am Hungar shortly after 2 p.m. At the Buchberg intersection he wanted to turn right onto a priority freight road. He turned on the indicator in time and turned right. At the same time, a local resident (58) approached from the left on his e-bike. During the collision, the cyclist ended up under the tractor. The tractor driver stopped and called the rescue and fire brigade. Passersby and a doctor who lived not far away tried to resuscitate the cyclist.
