Hartberg coach private – ‘The diagnosis was a drastic experience’

Date:

Hartberg coach Manfred Schmid has arrived at his new home. The 53-year-old has come to stay and has already made his mark with three wins in the first four games. Schmid chatted with ‘Krone’ about his youth, previous coaching positions, his son – and a visit to Helene Fischer.

“Kron”: Mr. Schmid, when you walk through the city here in Hartberg, you are immediately struck by your open character. You immediately start talking to people, with the fans of TSV Hartberg, you are not afraid of contact at all, you are approachable.
Manfred Schmid: I am in Hartberg because I want to be there too. I have an apartment here and didn’t want to commute. My family is often there and visits me. But I want to work and get to know the people from the region. I think it’s important to know what people and fans think. I don’t want to just stay in my own coaching bubble. Fans also have an outside view. I also had that in Cologne and Dortmund. Most people there are also happy when I come. Because I treated her normally and always with respect. I want to talk, communicate, have fun.
