Six prisoners have escaped from a prison in the western Russian region of Lipetsk. “All security agencies are currently working together to search for them; an inter-institutional group is working,” Governor Igor Artamonov wrote on his Telegram channel.
He called on the population to remain calm. It is understandable that news of a prisoner outbreak would cause unrest, but he asked not to panic.
Two prisoners arrested again
According to him, there will be many false reports. “The information war continues and the Ukrainian armed forces will not miss the opportunity to exploit the situation,” he wrote.
He later added that two of the fugitives had been arrested in the neighboring Tambov region.
The number of serious crimes increased
Russia, which has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine for more than two and a half years, is spending record amounts on military and security bodies. Nevertheless, according to the investigative authorities, the number of serious crimes has increased this year. Recently, there have been several cases of prisoner riots in the country.
