On Saturday evening, incredible scenes unfolded in the Tyrolean lowlands: two teenagers stole a car and raced through the area. The drunk driver (16) eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a motorcycle and a car in the driveway.
What a crazy idea! The 16-year-old resident started driving the car without permission in the parking lot of a restaurant in Hopfgarten im Brixental. According to the police, the key was near the car. A wild joyride followed. There was a boy of the same age on board.
Lost control of car
The suspicious duo then sped from Hopfgarten towards Wörgl – reportedly at a speed of 140 km/h! When the boys saw a police patrol at a roundabout, they turned onto Loferer Straße. The spectacular accident then took place near Kirchbichl.
The driver lost control of the car in a long bend – “probably due to excessive speed”. It then landed in the adjacent field, initially hitting a lamppost and a tree. Ultimately, the vehicle struck a motorcycle parked there and another car in the driveway before coming to a stop.
“Shot through window”, woman unharmed
The force of the impact tore the battery of the accident vehicle loose. “It was then thrown through a window on the ground floor of the home, where the 36-year-old resident was staying at the same time,” investigators said. Miraculously, the woman was unharmed.
The two boys were able to free themselves from the wreckage of the accident. They were injured and, after first aid, were taken by ambulance to the Kufstein district hospital.
The young driver was heavily drunk
“There was extensive damage to the vehicles and the single-family home. An alcohol test on the driver, who does not have a driver’s license, showed that he was heavily drunk,” the driver reports. Follow ads.
