Conflict in the Middle East – Houthi attacks city in Israel with drones

Date:

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said they attacked an industrial area in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon (pictured above) with drones on Tuesday. This was stated by a military spokesman for the Shia militia.

The Israeli army announced that a drone had landed in open terrain near the coastal town. Investigation revealed that she had been sent from Yemen. A siren sounded after the rocket entered Israeli territory.

According to Israeli reports, another drone from Lebanon was intercepted by air defenses. Parts of the drone crashed in an uninhabited area near the coastal town of Nahariya in northern Israel. There were no reports of injuries in either incident.

Since the start of the Gaza war over a year ago, there have been repeated attacks on Israel by the so-called ‘axis of resistance’ of Iran’s allies. In addition to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, this also includes militias in Iraq and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

The Houthis have become especially visible through their repeated attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
