A 20-year-old man was seriously injured in a Cobra operation in Carinthia on Thursday night: a member of the task force fired two shots, the man was hit in the hip and shoulder.
The incident happened at a campsite in Keutschach: According to information from the prosecutor’s office, the 20-year-old had barricaded himself in a ladies toilet there. Wanting to hurt himself, other campers called to the rescue. The man – his identity is not yet known – did not want to accept the help of the emergency services.
Man threatened rescuers
On the contrary: “The man who was still locked in the toilet at the time was in danger of being rescued. He said he had a gun with him and would use it,” Markus Kitz, spokesman for the Klagenfurt prosecutor’s office, confirmed to the “Krone”. That is why the Cobra task force was alerted.
