A 20-year-old man was seriously injured in a Cobra operation in Carinthia on Thursday night: a member of the task force fired two shots, the man was hit in the hip and shoulder.
The incident happened at a campsite in Keutschach: According to information from the prosecutor’s office, the 20-year-old had barricaded himself in a ladies toilet there. Wanting to hurt himself, other campers called to the rescue. The man – his identity is not yet known – did not want to accept the help of the emergency services.
Man threatened rescuers
On the contrary: “The man who was still locked in the toilet at the time was in danger of being rescued. He said he had a gun with him and would use it,” Markus Kitz, spokesman for the Klagenfurt prosecutor’s office, confirmed to the “Krone”. That is why the Cobra task force was alerted. Wounded with a razor
The man himself may have been injured while he was still sitting on the toilet: he had a razor blade with him and cut wounds on his neck. The 20-year-old was taken care of by the rescue team already there and taken to the Klagenfurt clinic, where he was put into artificial deep sleep. “He’s out of danger,” Kitz reported.
