A swimming trip by several families to a thermal bath in Berchtesgaden ended dramatically on Friday evening. A three-year-old boy from Hallein went to the adventure pool without his parents noticing. Girls (12) pulled the boy out of the water and an emergency doctor resuscitated him.
The families were on their way home around 9:20 p.m. when they noticed the three-year-old child had disappeared. Two twelve-year-old girls discovered the boy floating in the water and pulled him out of the pool.
Resuscitation successful
An emergency physician who was present privately performed resuscitation measures together with the lifeguard. The man from Hallein was flown to the clinic in Salzburg by rescue helicopter.
Looking for witnesses
A crisis intervention team cared for the relatives. Possible witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Berchtesgaden police station.
