After a 71-year-old man from Carinthia accidentally cut his left leg with a chainsaw, he not only treated the wound himself, but also continued driving his tractor.
The accident happened in a forest plot in Ludmannsdorf, Klagenfurt-Land district. The 71-year-old property owner was doing forest work there when he suddenly slipped with the chainsaw. He then suffered a cut on his left leg.
While he was still treating his wound himself, he called his partner on the phone, who set the rescue chain in motion.
Driving a tractor with an injured leg
The rescue helicopter C11 was alerted and left to pick up the injured man. Meanwhile, the 71-year-old drove his tractor to a clearing, where helicopter troops picked up the man. He was injured and was transferred to UKH Klagenfurt.
