A new case of violence against women shocked Carinthia: Wednesday evening a man from Klagenfurt (54) attacked his wife, assaulted her and strangled her. When he fled, the woman was able to alert the police. They immediately started a search for the alleged perpetrator.
It was 10 p.m. when the horrific scenes unfolded on the terrace of the woman’s home in Schiefling: the 59-year-old and her 54-year-old husband were arguing. Suddenly he attacked her: the man from Klagenfurt pushed his wife, she fell against the patio table and landed on the floor. As if that wasn’t enough, he strangled her. He then fled in his car.
This gave the 59-year-old the opportunity to alert the police. The injured person called 911, but she refused medical attention. The police immediately launched a search for the alleged violent criminal – but the officers did not find the man at his primary residence in Klagenfurt.
Entry ban and screening
At 12:40 a.m., a police patrol picked him up. A temporary ban has been issued against the 54-year-old from entering the house in Schiefling. A report will be filed after the investigation, which will continue on Thursday.
