Preparations for the coming winter season are in full swing in ski areas throughout Austria. But what is needed for winter magic and what should the technical teams in the ski areas do? The “Bergkrone” accompanied the hard-working cable car workers for a day on the Styrian Kreischberg.
The beautiful mountain world of the Gurktal Alps and Niedere Tauern around Murau is currently colorful in autumn. But Reinhard Maier, Philipp Seitlinger and Felix Tockner don’t notice it. The focus of the three cable car technicians is on the cable sheaves on which the almost eight kilometer long transport cable of the modern 10-person gondola lift rests. In winter, this cable car transports up to 4,000 skiers per hour from the valley to the Kreischberg.
