A crash on the A12 Inntalautobahn in the Tiroler Unterland went relatively lightly on Thursday: a German (58) ran into a trailer, causing the drawbar to literally drill into the towing car. Fortunately, there was no one in the back seat – a passenger (42) suffered minor injuries.
According to the police, the accident happened around 2 p.m. near Langkampfen (Kufstein district). A 54-year-old Turkish woman was driving with an attendant (42) on the A12 towards Innsbruck when a German (58) driving behind her suddenly collided with her trailer.
Passenger slightly injured
The trailer was pushed against the rear of the vehicle and the drawbar literally impaled the car. “The 42-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, but did not have to go to hospital. The other participants were unharmed,” the director reports.
Meanwhile, the Inntal autobahn was difficult to pass in the area of the accident site – a backlog formed to Kufstein-Süd.
