25,000 hectares of crops affected by DANA in Valencia

There are 10,000 affected farmers on 50,000 plots, and the volume of affected production amounts to 650 million kilos, according to Agroseguro data.

Eleven days after the damage that devastated part of the province of Valencia, the combined agricultural insurance entity Agroseguro has increased the number of hectares affected to 25,000 hectares.

If initial figures indicated that 20,000 hectares had been damaged – mainly persimmons, citrus fruits and vegetables – this figure has risen to 25,000 as the days have passed, reports have been received and work has been carried out on the ground.

There are 10,000 affected farmers on 50,000 plots, and the volume of affected production amounts to 650 million kilos, according to Agroseguro data.

The insured capital in these areas amounts to 250 million euros, but experts have not yet made a preliminary estimate of the planned compensation.
