The Israeli military says it has located an underground facility of the pro-Iranian Shiite terrorist militia Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel. The bunker was therefore hidden under a cemetery (see video above).
The 36th Division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel’s armed forces, in coordination with special forces and Aman military intelligence, blew up Hezbollah’s tunnel system, which was hidden beneath a cemetery, the Jerusalem Post reported on Sunday evening. .
Just a mile from Israel
In the underground command center, the IDF discovered command and living quarters, as well as weapons depots filled with weapons and combat equipment. During an operation in the area, soldiers discovered several tunnel shafts leading to the facility, exposing the entire tunnel system, which was located just a mile from the border with Israel.
Soldiers of the Golani Brigade, also known as Brigade No. 1, the 282nd Brigade and the 36th Division’s Logistic Support Unit investigated and destroyed the tunnel, which stretched more than a kilometer long and was two meters high.
Installation filled with concrete
According to the Jerusalem Post, the facility was eventually blown up under the direction of the Ministry of Defense’s Engineering and Construction Directorate.
