Future plans requested – After bankruptcy: What happens to vacant furniture stores

Date:

After Kika/Leiner filed for bankruptcy, it is completely unclear whether the restructuring will be successful and what will then happen to the 17 branches and more than 1,300 employees. But what actually happened to the furniture stores that closed last year? Here, good advice is often expensive – and requires patience. However, new life was breathed into a location in Upper Austria.

Redeem the voucher cards quickly before they are no longer valid – that was the motto in the Kika/Leiner stores on Thursday, where customers made spontaneous purchases while at the same time the furniture retailer’s bankruptcy application ended up in court. The facts are now on the table: the debts amount to 113 million euros.

It is unclear whether the restructuring will be successful and what will happen to the 1,350 employees and 17 stores. However, it is certain that reusing furniture stores is not an unqualified success.
