According to French media reports, the man is the son of the restaurant owner. He had a knife with him and temporarily barricaded himself with some employees in the restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux (southwest of Paris, mind you) on Saturday. It is said that there was no danger to the guests themselves.
Police deployed a special unit and arrested the shooter. The restaurant’s employees were released; they were slightly injured and in shock after the incident.
