Six suspected young criminals between the ages of 15 and 17 will soon have to appear in court. They are said to have committed no fewer than 74 crimes, including 14 burglaries at outdoor swimming pools in Salzburg and Upper Austria.

It is the next case of shocking youth crime that will be heard in the Salzburg Regional Court from April 8 to 10: a six-member youth gang – four Austrians, an Afghan and a Russian between the ages of 15 and 17 – is alleged to have committed 74 crimes over the past year. crimes committed. The Public Prosecution Service lists the crimes on 25 pages, the majority of which relate to burglaries. The manner can be described as brutal: between June and July, the young people broke into fourteen swimming pools in Flachgau, Tennengau, the city of Salzburg and Upper Austria – sometimes in pairs, sometimes in threes.

They also broke into cars – borrowing some vehicles for joyrides.

According to the indictment, the loot amounts to more than 40,000 euros. Two crimes resulted in injuries: a bus driver who was punched and a cyclist who was rammed while a suspect was wandering around.
