After a bloody knife attack in early September in Graz, police have identified two suspects. The victim, a 16-year-old Turkish man, was seriously injured.
The crime took place on September 9 in the Gries district. The 16-year-old was attacked with a knife by initially unknown perpetrators and suffered serious injuries to his back.
Suspicious duo from the Graz and Leoben region
Already in October, Styrian murder investigators, together with the task force for combating street crime, were able to identify a 16-year-old from the Graz area as a suspect. Now his suspected accomplice, a Leobner woman of the same age, was identified and immediately arrested.
Revenge after a drug fight?
According to the police, the background may lie in the drug scene. A deal involving a small amount of cocaine may have gone wrong and the two people now arrested may have taken revenge, according to the current investigation.
The duo have actually confessed to the incident, but the youngsters deny any intention to injure or even kill. The investigation still points to attempted murder. The two 16-year-olds are being held in Jakomini prison.
