The predicted storms moved over parts of western Austria on Friday evening. The Tyrolean Unterland was particularly affected. There were some operations there – including due to a landslide next to a house and a flooded campground.
Heavy rain fell in Buch in Tirol (Schwaz district). Here, the residents of a house in the Troi neighborhood got lucky when a landslide went off just yards from the building. The house remained undamaged (see video above). In addition, the massive rainfall washed debris and mud onto the roads.
Fields and campsite flooded
As the Tyrol control center on the “Krone” described, there were some operations in the lowlands, especially from 9 p.m. Also in the vicinity of Hochfilzen and St. Ulrich am Pillersee, where the water overflowed its banks due to dammed up streams. In addition, fields and a camping site were flooded. In some cases, water also entered the cellars.
