Two donkeys caused a commotion in Linz-Urfahr on Thursday morning. The two homeless animals suddenly trotted around the entrance to the city, blocking traffic. A radio patrol crew calling for help managed to capture the two runaways after several attempts. Who they belong to is still being determined.
Drivers could hardly believe their eyes when two donkeys suddenly approached them on the busy Leonfeldner Bundesstraße (B 126) shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The animals were initially well behaved on the sidewalk, but then ran onto the road. Several drivers warned the driver. This arrived in the form of a radio patrol team.
The first attempt to block off the road with the police car failed. Because the donkeys swerved and ran past them. Then the two officers got out and tried to catch the donkeys by hand.
That ultimately brought success. They managed to get the halters of the two ungulates and stop their continued running.
It was initially unclear who owned the runaways and investigations are still ongoing.
